Sturrock Montessori Academy

Our Teacher

Mrs. Courtney Sturrock Smith is a summa cum laude graduate of Lamar University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with specializations in math and reading.  She is a certified classroom teacher (K-8) by the state of Texas.  She is a Montessori certified teacher; certified to teach ages 6-12 (grades 1-6).  Courtney trained at the Houston Montessori Center.  In addition, she is a lifetime member of the American Montessori Society, a member of Kappa Delta Pi (International Honor Society in Education), and a lifetime member of Phi Kappa Phi (Honor Society).

Our Students

Sturrock Montessori Academy opened in August of 2006.  We currently have students enrolled in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.

Our School 

Sturrock Montessori Academy is located off of Moore Road approximately 5 miles west of Major Drive.

We have open, spacious classrooms filled with natural light including a screened porch for working outside, large outdoor play area, and covered outdoor area.

 

Students are surrounded by nature!  In addition to the animals we care for in our classroom, students have the opportunity to garden and interact with other animals on the property.
